Aims and objectives of the federation include the following:

• i). To ensure all special facilities to visually challenged students for their education at school, college and university level.

• ii) Promotion of required infrastructure for special training programs for visually challenged individuals in employment oriented professions and trades.

• iii) To guide and facilitate visually challenged persons to gain suitable employment in public and private sector.

• iv) To offer or cause to be offered finance, training, consultation and other necessary assistance to the blind and low vision persons for setting up the self employment ventures.

• v) To create awareness in the society about the ability, potential and talent of the blind.

• vi) Build and provide a platform for the over all empowerment and rehabilitation of the blind by formulation and implementation of various activities and programs.
